HEALING HEARTS AND PAWS

MOVE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

A donation-based class to care for your body while helping rescue and foster animals get the integrative veterinary care that otherwise wouldn't be an option for them.

Movement that matters in more ways than one...

Veterinary and human care come together to help people move and feel better while helping provide integrative veterinary care for rescue animals in need.

This class is an opportunity for all ages and fitness levels to see their body through a new lens: biomechanics.

You'll explore breath, core function, strength, and joint mobility through self-assessment and then experiment with exercises and drills to correct and better connect with how you are meant to move.

Gain a better understanding of your body and walk out feeling more connected.

About the cause

  • Healing Hearts and Paws is a charitable fund founded by Dr. Nicole of Natural Healing Petcare and made possible by the Veterinary Care Foundation, a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

  • Provides hope and healing for animals in smaller rescues with limited funds to cover integrative veterinary care and whole-food nutrition costs for animals who need it most.

  • Providing holistic therapies — including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Ozone Therapy, Nutritional IV Treatments, IASIS Neurofeedback, and Sanawave Advanced PEMF — at significantly reduced fees to rescue and foster animals suffering from emotional trauma, chronic pain, and other conditions, helping ease their burdens when overwhelming financial challenges make such integrative care otherwise impossible.

Your donation is tax-deductible

  • Partnering with smaller rescues with limited funds to cover integrative veterinary care and whole-food nutrition costs for animals who need it most.

WHO IS BEHIND HEALING HEARTS AND PAWS?

Dr. Nicole LeVeque received her Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State in 2000. She began practicing at D’Adamo Veterinary Hospital in Livonia, Michigan. There, she was able to provide her clients with such services as abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, surgery and dental care. In staying with her true nature and love for a more natural approach to health care, she became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 2003 through IVAS. Since that time she has worked with herbal therapies and completed an intensive course with some of the most renowned holistic veterinary masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine including Dr. Mona Bodreaux and Dr. Steven Marsden. In addition, Dr. LeVeque practices Qi Gong which she enjoys incorporating into her acupuncture sessions. Dr. Nicole LeVeque became certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy (VSMT) through The Healing Oasis Wellness Center in 2012.

She lives in Royal Oak with her husband, two children and their rescued pets - two cats and one very large dog! They enjoy outdoor activities including camping, swimming, taking care of their vegetable garden and most of all, simply playing. Along with her love of animals, her other passion is ballet. She danced in a ballet company from childhood through her years in college and taught ballet, tap and jazz. She still takes classes when time permits.

WHO IS TEACHING THIS CLASS?

Rachel Baker will be your guide and instructor for this class. You can read more about her below this FAQ section.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING/WEAR?

Please bring a mat and water. Wear workout clothes. For the best coaching experience, wear clothes that allow me to see your joints and posture. Baggy clothes will limit what I can see and coach.

I DON'T HAVE WORKOUT EXPERIENCE. IS THIS FOR ME?

You do not need to have workout experience to benefit from this class. In fact, this is a great place to learn about your body and how you move so that you can start an exercise program on the right foot if that is something you want to do.

I WORKOUT REGULARLY, WOULD I BENEFIT FROM THIS CLASS?

Yes! You'll learn from someone who has been in the trenches helping people move better for over 30 years. Rachel often sees clients who have been working out for a long time and end up coming to her because they've started experiencing pain or movement issues.

HOW INTENSE IS THIS CLASS GOING TO BE?

This class is focused on moving and functioning well. It is not a high-intensity class, but a lot of what we do will be new even for the seasoned yogi or fitness buff. Some of these techniques will be a challenge just because they're new. With that said, there are modifications for everything

WHAT IF I HAVE INJURY, PAIN OR DISABILITY

Many of Rachel's clients come to her to solve pain and movement issues. If you're unable to climb stairs for any reason, unfortunately, we do not have other accommodations available for the training space. If you are experiencing pain, injury or recent surgery, please call Rachel to discuss . (248) 217-0034 or rachel@humansmove.com

WHERE WILL THE CLASS BE?

It will be held at Natural Healing Petcare

1883 E Maple Rd, Troy, MI 48083

ARE THERE OTHER WAYS TO HELP HEALING HEARTS AND PAWS?

Yes! You can share this page with your friends and family. You can make donations outside of this class. Just skip registration and go to step 2 for the donation link.

HEY, I’M RACHEL!

I'll be your guide...

I first met Dr. Nicole in 2010 when I was searching for a vet for my new puppy, Sydney. I wanted someone who thought beyond conventional approaches to veterinary care. I found that and so much more in Nicole.

In 2020, Sydney became seriously ill. The outlook was grim, and there was pressure to make decisions fast while I was struggling financially and emotionally. Nicole gave me something the other vets hadn't: hope, unconventional options, and the support to make decisions with confidence.

I chose a treatment plan that didn't involve conventional surgery or drugs. I was warned by other vets I didn't have time to "play" around. Six weeks after starting Sydney's imaging was clear. I got another two and a half years with my girl. Nicole was there for me every step of the way until Syd took her very last breath at the end of 2022.

She's also been there for Sunny, who I rescued from Mississippi back in 2023. She's helped us navigate heart surgery and the many health challenges that came with her difficult start in life.

I've experienced firsthand how much compassionate, integrative veterinary care can mean, not just for an animal, but for the people who love them. That's why I'm proud to support Healing Hearts & Paws.

Now, a little about me.

With over 30 years in fitness and rehabilitation, and a lifelong love of horseback riding, hiking, figure skating, and dogs, I've developed a different approach to movement through Humans Move.

I focus on the things that are often overlooked: breathing, biomechanics, mobility, and building the strength and foundation your body needs for the things you love to do.

Whether you want to get back to activities you enjoy, address pain and limitations, or stay strong and capable for years to come, my goal is to help you move with greater confidence and capability.
