ABOUT HUMANS MOVE
Your life is meant to be lived outside of workouts, but workouts make it possible to experience magical moments you can’t have with an achey, lethargic bod. Life’s short—you don’t have time for workouts that won’t directly support the life you want to live. Here, every move is chosen to move you in the direction of your dreams—and always with longevity in mind.

THE BACKSTORY
How I got here
"Get your heels down.” I thought they were.
During a lesson in the 80's, my trainer pointed to a horse-and-rider team that was crushing it in the jumpers and told me the difference between where I was and where I wanted to be was how naturally that rider's heels fell.
It was the first time I thought about how movement could be improved. I was 13.
I didn’t walk away from that moment thinking I’d one day help people move better.
In my life, movement and health issues were normal. My gram had myasthenia gravis, my dad had multiple joint surgeries and lupus, and in my extended family, someone was always injured or recovering from surgery.
I experienced pain and health challenges myself from an early age, including multiple surgeries. One of them was on the wrong foot, which affected my mechanics and eventually led to knee surgery.
EXPERIENCE · EDUCATION · PRACTICE
I was in my early 20s when I had surgery on the wrong foot. I felt out of shape for the first time in my life and was trying to figure out how to get my body back.
I got my first personal training certification to learn how to get “back in shape,” and I thought I might want to help other people, too.
I was figure skating and teaching while I still had a job in automotive. I had back pain and knee pain all the time. I felt pulled to build a career around movement but wasn’t sure what that looked like.
So I got a job as a personal trainer. I started training people—both general fitness clients and skaters doing off-ice conditioning—and noticed the same thing over and over again: everyone had pain. Age didn’t matter. Activity level didn’t matter.
The options were always the same—strength training or physical therapy, where the focus was only on the body part in pain. Nothing addressed how people were actually moving as a whole.
That gap is what pulled me deeper into education and shaped the work I do now - helping people move better for life.

Values
Foundation First
You don’t start where you want to be. You start where you are. We assess, restore the foundation (breath, posture, core function, joint mobility), then build strength on top of that.
Not Body Parts
The body is a system, not a collection of parts. Nothing works in isolation. Breath, movement, and strength are always connected—and ignoring any one of them affects the whole.
Live an Active Life
A long, active life doesn’t happen by accident. Activity alone won’t sustain it—training better movement, building strength and resilience, are what make longevity possible.
