RIDER'S LONGEVITY & PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

Your Foundation for Better Riding

A rider-focused workshop for your movement, breath, and control — because when you move better, your horse can too.

Because communication is everything

Your body needs to be responsive and receptive in the saddle for clear communication with your horse.

Body tension, pain, and dysfunctional breathing impact your mobility and stability—your means of communication with your horse.

You may not even realize you have an issue because dysfunction usually feels normal in our body—until it shows up as pain.

Here, you'll identify patterns in your body that may impede your communication and impact your joint health in the future.

Is this you?

  • You find yourself using your hands more than you'd like.

  • Your aids are much harder on one side than the other.

  • Sometimes you’re not sure what you’re supposed to feel.

  • You feel uncoordinated between your leg and your hand.

  • Your back aches, and your shoulders are tight.

  • Your feet go numb in the stirrups.

  • Your trainer repeatedly gives you the same cues ride after ride.

  • You have a hard time relaxing your hips and pelvis in the saddle.

The good news? You can rebalance your body out of the saddle to be stronger and more balanced in the saddle.

THE COLD HARD TRUTH

Riding won’t maintain itself long-term

Our bodies are amazing, and we can train and condition them to do incredible things.

It’s our adaptability that allows us to perform at this level.

That same adaptability can also cost us mobility, stability, and control—leading to pain and loss of function.

You are always adapting to something.

Sometimes it’s good—like exercise that restores function or breathing practices that improve ribcage and core control.

Sometimes it's not so good—like sitting at a desk for more hours than anything else, or riding in a way that reinforces dysfunctional movement patterns.

The good news is that you can decide what you adapt to—and it doesn’t take hours in a gym to build resilience and support longevity.

Imagine what it will feel like when you…

FIND OUT WHAT YOUR BODY REALLY NEEDS

Cut through the conflicting information about core strength, breath work, mobility vs stability, and feel for yourself what is right for your body.

YOUR CORE FEELS STRONG AND YOUR BACK DOESN'T HURT

Imagine rides that end with you feeling like you have a lot more in you because your core and breath have changed, and your body has less tension.

YOUR FEET STOP GOING NUMB AND YOUR HIPS ARE RELAXED

Imagine you find something better than the feel-good in-the-moment stretches, and now your hips are mobile and your feet and ankles feel better.

This is possible for you—through better movement, breathing and awareness.

Programs for riders that target inner thighs, abs, and back miss the point.

INTRODUCING
RIDER'S LONGEVITY & PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

Discover simple practices with complex results

You’ve been told to sit up straight, pull your shoulders back, and maybe even arch your back. What do all those cues have in common?

Without the foundation you need, they weaken the core's ability to do its job dynamically.

It's your trainer's job to make you an effective rider. It's not their job to spot compensations and make you a better moving human.

When you have a better foundation of movement out of the saddle, your trainer's cues land differently, and it'll be easier to improve your riding.

Rider’s Longevity & Performance Workshop is a focused, hands-on experience where you’ll find your functional posture and breath for core strength you don’t have to think about. Become stronger and more mobile in the saddle.

WHY THE RIDER'S LONGEVITY & PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP?

Because how you move out of the saddle is the foundation for how you move in it—and the key to a long riding career

The Rider's Longevity & Performance Workshop meets you where you are, delivers quick wins, and jumpstarts lasting progress.
It’s the first step to building resilience—for performance, progress, and longevity.
Whether you’re a competitive rider or you ride for fun, it starts here.

GET READY TO FEEL A DIFFERENCE IN AND OUT OF THE SADDLE

Here's what happens when you train your body out of the saddle

YOUR SEAT FEELS QUIET & STEADY

No more working so hard to hold your position in the saddle. Your core supports you, and everything feels more dynamic, yet stable.

POSTURE HAPPENS NATURALLY

You no longer struggle to sit up straight—you know better now. Your ribcage, spine, and pelvis work together without force, and it isn’t a chore anymore.

YOU FEEL LIGHTER & YOUR HORSE RESPONDS FASTER

Your body starts letting go of built-up tension. You’re not gripping, guarding, or blocking your horse. You feel lighter, looser, and ride with more ease, less pain.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Here's what we'll dive into

in this hands-on, 2-hour workshop

FIND OUT WHERE YOU STAND

The workshop starts with an alignment and posture check so you know exactly where you’re starting from—and we’ll revisit your alignment at the end of the workshop so you can see what has changed.

Then we’ll assess your breath—so you can understand your go-to strategies and whether they’re helping or hurting.

You’ll assess your joint movement to find mobility and stability issues to work on.

IMPROVE BREATH, POSTURE & CORE

Learn how to breathe for better movement and core strength, along with a functional way to better posture without bracing.

You'll gain an understanding of pressure and tension management in your body. What works for you—and what works against you.

You'll learn a daily mobility routine to maintain your joints from head to toe.

INTEGRATE YOUR BREATH & POSTURE INTO MOVEMENT

Take what you learn and practice how to use it in real life.

It starts with connecting the breath to the core. You can expect to learn some new core exercises that turn on your core—without crunches.

We'll take that into basic human moves and talk about integration in the saddle

HEY, I’M RACHEL!

Here to restore your connection to your body—for better riding.

With 30 years in the fitness world and a lifelong rider, hiker, figure skater, and dog trainer, I’ve created something different in Humans Move.

My approach is rooted in real-life movement—the kind that helps you feel better, move better, and build the strength, mobility, and resilience you need to be able to ride well for decades to come.

I teach what most others skip—the foundation.

I got tired of watching people push through pain, hold tension they didn’t even know they had, and chase workouts they weren’t ready for. So I built programs that focus on what matters most: breathing well, moving well, and building a rock-solid foundation your body can rely on—for life.

Whether you're coming back from injury, stuck in pain, or just want to stay strong and capable in the saddle—I'm here to help you feel and move like an athlete, at every age, and every skill level

Is Rider's Longevity & Performance for You?

RLP is for you if...

  • Feeling good in the saddle matters more than pushing through pain for ribbons and titles.

  • You value doing things the right way vs the rushed way.

  • You want to listen to your body.

  • You’re here for no pain, more gain—done with the grind

RLP isn't for you if...

  • Longevity and future health aren’t something you care to think about

  • Your competition timeline is all that matters.

  • You believe in mind over matter — and crushing a workout fixes everything.

  • You believe in “no pain, no gain.”

I ALREADY STRENGTH TRAIN, DO I NEED THIS?

YES! This class is going to help you find dysfunctions and you'll learn things that'll make your workouts more effective.

I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH FORMAL EXERCISE. WILL THIS HELP ME?

YES! The things I teach in this workshop are things I wish everyone had learned before they ever started exercising, riding, or playing sports. This is the foundation most people are missing—even long-time fitness fanatics.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

The temperature in my space can be chilly sometimes. Please wear comfortable clothes for exercise and bring layers. No jeans or clothing that is constricting to movement. Wear gym-type shoes, and please bring a mat.

WHERE IS THE WORKSHOP LOCATED?

The locations are listed above and on the registration page. You will receive a confirmation email with the address as well.

Most workshops are held at my training space in Troy MI.
